Today Danny Ainge resigned his post as the Executive Director of Basketball Operations for the Boston Celtics. Fresh on the heels of that news, Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer has suggested the Portland Trail Blazers as a logical next stop for the storied exec.
Discussing the news on the The Ringer’s Ryen Russillo podcast, O’Connor speculated that the Blazers and Utah Jazz might be future options for Ainge, who spent the past 18 years running the Celtics.
He clarified that an Ainge move to Portland would be contingent on Portland’s current President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey’s future with the Blazers.
