Against the Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers’ shooting guard Norman Powell left during the first half with about five minutes remaining. At the half, it was confirmed that Powell would not return, and despite an inconclusive MRI that same evening, the team has finally revealed Powell’s injury: left patellar tendinopathy, also known as jumper’s knee.
Official diagnosis on Norman Powell's knee injury is left patellar tendinopathy. He and Tony Snell (sprained right foot) are out for tomorrow night's game at the Clippers. #Blazers #RipCity

Patellar tendinopathy is typically caused by overuse of the tendon that connects the quadriceps muscle to the tibia.
