'Nerve racking,' 'surreal' and 'terrible:' Portland Trail Blazers remember their NBA debuts

The evening before Damian Lillard's NBA debut his family members were more nervous than him.

"The night before I had a bunch of family in town and they was all at my house like, 'You need go to sleep. You need to get some rest," the Trail Blazers point guard recalled. "It was like 11:30 and I was up with all my cousins just listening to beats and messing around. They were like, 'You got a game tomorrow. It's your first game.' And I was like, 'I know. We'll see.'"

Lillard's claim that he wasn't nervous the night before his first professional basketball game is backed by the fact that he had one the most impressive debuts in league history.
