In an attempt to address the concerns that some players have about the NBA’s looming return and its impact on the current social justice movement, the NBPA is working on a proposal that would allow players to substitute the name on their jersey for messages of support.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, details crafted by the NBPA were delivered to the NBA earlier this weekend.
Chris Paul, who is serving as the NBPA’s president, discussed the potential change with The Undefeated’s Marc Spears.
“We’re just trying to continue to shed light on the different social justice issues that guys around our league continue to talk about day in and day out,” Paul told The Undefeated.
