The Portland Trail Blazers have some retooling to do within their team, and it could involve parting ways with some of their bigger contracts.
Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey drew up a trade scenario that would send Jerami Grant to the Toronto Raptors for Bruce Brown, a 2028 first-round pick swap and a 2027 second-round pick.
Grant’s contract is onerous (it runs through 2027-28, when he has a $36.4 million player option), but he’s averaged 20.7 points and shot 40.2 percent from deep over his two seasons in Portland.
For Portland, this is almost entirely about getting out from under the Grant contract that was signed prior to last summer’s Damian Lillard trade.
