NBA Expects Large Increase in Salary Cap Next Season

The NBA is forecasting a 10% increase in the salary cap for the 2025-26 season. The cap is projected to rise from $140.6 million this year to $154.6 million, with a corresponding rise in the luxury tax threshold to $187.9 million. Bobby Marks of ESPN tweeted the news today as the league informed its member franchises of the projection.

The increase is expected to be one of several occasioned by the seven-year broadcast rights deals the NBA signed with broadcast partners which takes effect in the coming season.

For those curious, the Portland Trail Blazers will have a fixed cap obligation of approximately $171 million heading into the summer, with around $19.
