Moritz Wagner, in an interview with the Detroit Free Press, discussed his decision to declare for the NBA Draft. He mentioned how difficult it was to leave Michigan, a place he called home.
In the end, however, he said his decision was an easy one, as he knew moving up to the NBA was the right choice for him.

Wagner was impressive in his junior year at Michigan. He averaged 14.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 27.6 minutes per game as a junior. The forward played the third most minutes per game on the team, a team which made it to the championship game and lost to the dominant Villanova Wildcats.
