Former NBA coach Monty Williams has accepted the head coaching job at the Texas Military Institute Episcopal prep school in San Antonio, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes. At the school, Williams will coach his son, Elijah Williams, who is ranked by ESPN as the No. 22 recruit in the class of 2026.
Williams, 53, will replace former NBA guard Bruce Browen, Haynes reported.
The Detroit Pistons fired Williams in June after just one season into his six-year, $78 million contract. The Pistons finished with a league-worst record of 14-68 last season.
