The Miami Heat have suspended six-time NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler indefinitely, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Monday.
According to the report, the Heat planned to move Butler to a bench role, and he responded to the news by leaving the team’s Monday morning shootaround, resulting in the suspension.
This marks the third time this month Miami has suspended Butler, causing him to miss nine of the Heat’s last 12 games. The franchise initially suspended Butler on Jan. 3 for seven games due to “multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team” after Butler expressed his discontent in Miami at a press conference.
