The Portland Trail Blazers didn’t appear on stage at the NBA’s year-end awards ceremony, but they weren’t absent, either. After the awards were announced, the voting totals revealed Portland’s presence in multiple categories.
Damian Lillard finished fourth in NBA MVP voting, the best showing for a Blazers player since Clyde Drexler finished second to Michael Jordan in 1992. He fell behind overall winner James Harden, as well as LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He leapfrogged last year’s winner, Russell Westbrook, who finished fifth.
Blazers President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey also made an appearance in the Executive of the Year Voting.
