Discussions surrounding the Portland Trail Blazers’ best player entering the 2024-25 season were always going to include mention of Jerami Grant. The 30-year-old is a genuine two-way forward who has increased his efficiency almost every season since entering the NBA.
The Portland-born Blazer enjoyed a particularly successful 2023-24 campaign, averaging 21.0 points on 40.2 percent from three, 3.5 boards, 2.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks. Among forwards, he ranked 21st in assist rate, 23rd from three and 15th in getting to the rim as he shared the lead offensive responsibilities with Anfernee Simons.
To further the rebuild this summer, General Manager Joe Cronin gave up real assets to secure 23-year-old small forward Deni Avdija to partner with Grant in the frontcourt.
