The Los Angeles Clippers are making changes to their coaching staff, according to ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
ESPN Sources: Jeff Van Gundy — who spent the season as senior consultant for the NBA champion Boston Celtics — has agreed on a deal to become the lead assistant on Ty Lue’s Los Angeles Clippers’ coaching staff.
Van Gundy, 62, coached in the NBA from 1989-2007 with the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets before joining ESPN as a commentator for 16 years. After he was fired in 2023, he joined the Boston Celtics as a consultant and won his first NBA championship in the process.
