Adding to the crazy free agency drama, problems between Jimmy Butler and his younger teammates have surfaced. From Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Butler is “fed up with the nonchalant attitude” of them, specifically Karl-Anthony Towns.
If this report is in fact true, the Minnesota Timberwolves might look to trade him. Only one year remains on Butler’s contract, and apparently he wants to join forces with Kyrie Irving somewhere in the Eastern Conference.
Holding onto Butler leaves Minnesota with nothing once 2018-2019 ends. Their current roster, like 90% of the league’s, isn’t strong enough to win a championship.
