Team USA held off France in a thrilling 67-66 win this morning to capture the gold medal in women’s basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics. If you watched the game, you may have recognized one of the names on the French side for its Portland Trail Blazers’ connection.
Iliana Rupert, 23, the older sister of second-year Blazers forward Rayan Rupert, appeared in the gold medal game and played an important role off the bench during France’s silver medal run in front of their home crowd.
The 6-foot-4 center with shooting touch struggled to find her rhythm against Team USA in the final.
