As August rolls onward into September, NBA analysts and pundits are beginning to predict which teams will have a successful 2024-25 campaign, contending for the 2025 NBA Playoffs and the next championship trophy. The Portland Trail Blazers are conspicuously absent from those conversations (and most others across the league). Portland may have a moment in May, but it’ll likely be waiting for ping pong balls to drop in the draft lottery. They’re not expected to do much this season except lose.
