Damian Lillard’s candidacy for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award continued to gain steam on Friday. Yahoo Sports NBA Insider Chris Haynes listed the Trail Blazers star at No. 1 in his latest MVP ladder.
Haynes justified Lillard’s placement by citing a wide-open field and Dame’s ability to carry an injury-depleted roster.

Through 45 outings this season, Lillard is averaging 29.8 points and 7.8 assists per game. In regards to his efficiency, the former Weber State star has connected on 44.
