Following the dismissal of long-time coach Terry Stotts, the Trail Blazers hired first-time head coach Chauncey Billups. Prior to that final decision, Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon was one of a handful of candidates that received multiple interviews in the Blazers’ process. Over the weekend, Becky Hammon spoke with CNBC’s Jabari Young about her part in Portland’s coaching search.
Hammon explained that she is focused on moving forward and has put the Blazers’ vacancy behind her.
“I’m not mad,” Hammon said. “This is the business, and it’s a very competitive business. But, at the end of the day, throw everything out the window — if you want to hire me, you’ll find a reason to hire me.
