Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has suffered a season-ending shoulder tear. The two-time All-Star rejoined the Grizzlies just 9 games ago after serving an NBA-mandated suspension that took him out of the first 25 games of the season. Morant last appeared on January 5th in a Memphis win against the Los Angeles Clippers. He sat out the team’s game with the Phoenix Suns on the 7th of January, then news of his injury broke today.
Shams Charania of The Athletic described the issue as a “labrum tear in [the] shoulder]” and termed the necessary surgery “season-ending”.
