The Portland Trail Blazers are set to face the Dallas Mavericks for the second time this month tonight. The two teams previously met on December 4 with Dallas coming out on top.
The Blazers struggled to shoot the three ball in that game shooting only 29.2% from three-point range. I would attribute that number to simply a bad shooting night for Portland and not a great defensive effort by Dallas. The Mavericks are tied for 19th in opponent three-point percentage and do not have any elite perimeter defenders.
Dennis Smith Jr, whose athleticism allows him to have good defensive stretches, is out tonight with a wrist injury.
