Free Agency Trends Show Blazers’ Path Towards Contention

With the first few days of free agency already seeing some major shakeups to teams that have vied for contention in recent years, it seems the NBA landscape is shifting once again.

The 2010s and early 2020s were defined by the era of super teams. First it was the Miami Heat, then the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers took over. However, recently that moniker has been used to describe teams that have not quite earned the name super.

With Paul George leaving the Los Angeles Clippers, it is safe to say that their splurge in 2019 to grab George and Kawhi Leonard was a gamble that failed.
