In Monday night’s game between the Blazers and Nuggets, Portland center Deandre Ayton suffered a non-contact injury to his leg. In the third quarter, Ayton grabbed his leg and immediately reacted under the basket after an offensive possession. The team called timeout on the next possession to remove him from the game
Visibly limping, Ayton was slowly helped to the locker room. The Blazers announced he would not return, and listed it as a “left calf injury”. Next steps are not listed, but it’s likely that he is headed to imaging. Blazer’s Edge will provide updates as they arrive.
