Damian Lillard played a key role in the Portland Trail Blazers’ victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday evening, shooting 5-7 from deep, scoring 25 points, and keying a fourth-quarter rally that led the Blazers past their opponent despite 42 points from Clippers forward Paul George.
The effort followed a series of games in which Lillard was uncharacteristically quiet on the floor. Prior to the Clippers game, he had hit only 6 of 35 three-pointers attempted, an abysmal 17.1% rate. His scoring average sits at 19.2 points, down from 28.8 just a season ago.
