The Portland Trail Blazers brought in Cliff Alexander during the 2015-16 season after the forward slipped down draft boards. While he never suited up much for the Blazers, it officially marked the last time he played a game in the NBA.
Now, the big man is headed to ASVEL in France, according to multiple reports. ASVEL’s majority owner is San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, and ex-Blazer Nicolas Batum became a shareholder of the club and its director of basketball operations last year.
Alexander’s climb back to the NBA was detailed by The Athletic earlier this month with the forward admitting he’d pursue an overseas career to provide for his family if another NBA opportunity didn’t come his way.
