This is the fourth year C.J. McCollum has run a camp at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA.
50 kids in the Blazers’ Boys & Girls Club got a golden ticket for free entry into the camp. C.J. wants to give all kids an opportunity to play basketball, no matter their situation growing up.
In an interview during the YMCA camp with KPTV, McCollum explained his reasoning for hosting the camp:
I think it’s important where everyone has advantages. Everybody has different situations and they can’t help how they were raised, how they grew up, and they can’t help the situation they are in.
