On the Portland Trail Blazers’ first day of training camp last Tuesday, head coach Chauncey Billups was all smiles when asked about the team’s health. Apart from some lingering limitations with center Robert Williams III, the Blazers entered preseason with a clean bill of health.
“It’s rare,” Billups said. “It feels really good, so we gotta try to keep that going as long as we can.”
It turns out, as long as we can, lasted just three days.
At the team’s practice facility in Tualatin on Monday, Billups had to answer questions about new injuries to both Williams and third-year guard Shaedon Sharpe, as well as a small issue with guard Matisse Thybulle’s knee.
