The Portland Trail Blazers gave the heavily-favored Cleveland Cavaliers all that they could handle in a Sunday afternoon matinee. Though the game was expected to be unbalanced, Portland jumped out on Cleveland with hot three-point shooting and a strong defensive attack, aided by the absence of Cavaliers star scorer Donovan Mitchell. Like a marathon runner outpacing their personal best by a huge margin, the Blazers spent the first three quarters sprinting away from the competition, the final one trying not to get reeled in. Ultimately their defense couldn’t keep up even when their point production stayed strong.
