Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the organization, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Sunday morning. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Billups is wrapping up the fourth and final guaranteed year of his first deal with Portland this Sunday. The Blazers had a team option in his deal for next season.
Heading into the Blazers’ regular season finale, Billups has guided the team to a 35-46 record, a 14-win improvement over last season. The season also included a second-half surge, with the Blazers posting a a 22-18 record since Jan.
