The Portland Trail Blazers have waived point guard Skylar Mays and forward Ish Wainright, the team announced today.
Portland’s roster now has 13 players on standard NBA contracts, two short of the NBA maximum of 15 roster spots.
The Trail Blazers had converted Skylar Mays from a two-way contract to a standard contract in November when the team’s guard depth was tanked by injuries to Anfernee Simons, Scoot Henderson and Malcolm Brogdon.
The 26-year-old guard turned in solid play when he saw the floor. In 21 appearances this season, including five starts, Mays averaged 6.
