The Portland Trail Blazers didn’t set any franchise margin of victory records, but played well enough to hold off the short-handed Utah Jazz Monday evening 114-112 on the road.
The Jazz were trusting the process after pulling out a win against Houston on Saturday. They played without most of their key players, including Lauri Markkanen. Nonetheless, their backups kept the Blazers’ hands full all night. Utah briefly led after the opening period and then remained within striking distance late into the final seconds of the contest. A late, desperation three-point heave from Keyonte George had a chance to steal the victory away, but fell off the mark.
