It’s been a little less than a week since the Portland Trail Blazers selected Donovan Clingan with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
As a contender for the top selection, Clingan fell to the Blazers and Portland took him without much hesitation despite having Deandre Ayton on the roster.
The Blazers ranked 23rd in defensive rating last season, but that should change with Clingan on the roster, who thrived in protecting the rim during his two championship seasons at UConn. His defense has always built his all-around game, and it started from an early age.
