The Trail Blazers reached a five-year, $90 million agreement with Norman Powell to kick off the 2021 NBA offseason. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Blazers and Powell acted quickly to get a new deal completed.
Wojnarowski cited Powell’s agent, Thaddeus Foucher, as the source. Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports followed up the report, saying that Powell had no player options in the deal.
Powell arrived in Portland prior to last season’s trade deadline. The Blazers shipped Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood to the Raptors for Powell’s services. Following the trade, Powell appeared in 27 regular season outings and averaged 17 points per game.
