The Portland Trail Blazers made some decisive maneuvers this offseason, trading away Mario Hezonja and Trevor Ariza while gaining Robert Covington, Derrick Jones Jr., and Enes Kanter. Jonathan Soveta of the Score awarded the Blazers an “A” grade for their efforts. Amidst other teams in the West, Portland added the pieces it needed to create more depth, something lacking in the previous season, and they re-signed Carmelo Anthony and Rodney Hood.
Covington isn’t the only notable move on the wing. Jones is a shrewd free-agent signing thanks to his athleticism, and bringing back Anthony ensures the side has a daunting number of scoring options to take more pressure off Lillard.
