The Portland Trail Blazers signed Gary Trent Jr. to a guaranteed three-year deal worth $3.91 million, not what many were expecting for a player who dropped into the second round and a team with little financial flexibility. However, Trent Jr. is showing in Summer League why that contract might end up being worth it, Alec Nathan of Bleacher Report says:

The 19-year-old dropped a game-high 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-8 on three-pointers, and he dipped into his bag of scoring tricks to scorch the Spurs from a variety of angles.
