The Portland Trail Blazers took on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets at Moda Center on Thursday evening after a four-day break in their season schedule. The Blazers led by 17 points heading into the fourth quarter but weren’t able to celebrate long. The Nuggets made a huge comeback as Portland couldn’t buy a bucket and veteran Russell Westbrook turned back the clock and gave Denver efficient scoring and timely defense.
The Blazers would counterpunch and eventually find themselves in a tie game with 16 seconds remaining. Portland put the ball in the hands of Anfernee Simons and let him go to work.
