Blazers Coach Chauncey Billups to be Honored by Pistons

Chauncey Billups will get a reception unusual for a visiting head coach when the Portland Trail Blazers take on the Detroit Pistons later today in Michigan.

Billups, current Blazers head coach and former Detroit Pistons Finals MVP, will be honored by the Pistons franchise with a Chauncey Billups bobblehead given to the first 5,000 fans, a video montage of his time in Detroit, and having a speed painting of Billups created by an artist at halftime. There will also be Billups-related merchandise available for sale at Little Ceasars Arena.

Billups, who received a load ovation yesterday while in attendance as the Detroit Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings to vault to the top of the NFL’s NFC Division, made comments during media availability about the events planned for today’s game:

“I know that the atmosphere will be a lot of fun,” Billups said.
