In an article from Sports Illustrated about the most interesting potential NBA lineups, Jeremy Woo of The Crossover picked the Portland Trail Blazers as one of the teams that are most intriguing.
Woo was most interested in how the additions of Robert Covington and Derrick Jones Jr. make this squad theoretically one of the best defensively since Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have been on the Blazers. That along with Gary Trent Jr. off the bench, a healthy Jusuf Nurkic and Rodney Hood means this team can threaten for homecourt in the playoffs.
It sounds like there’s a pretty real chance the Blazers start Robert Covington and Derrick Jones at forward this season, which in theory gives them the best defensive backline they’ve had in the Damian Lillard–CJ McCollum era.
