The Portland Trail Blazers got off to a fast start against the Golden State Warriors Saturday night in San Francisco, leading 30-23 after the first quarter. That fast start didn’t last though. Golden State outscored Portland 34-16 in the second quarter to gain control of the game in route to a 126-106 win.
During postgame media availability, Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups discussed how the game flipped after a solid opening 12 minutes.
I thought we did a really good job of locking into what we were trying to do defensively, which it did, it got us off to a good start, and we just couldn’t sustain.
