Ben Simmons and Klutch Sports are talking with the Philadelphia 76ers about the possibility of the disgruntled star returning to the franchise. Simmons was the hottest name on the NBA trade market this summer after a disappointing end to the 2021 NBA Playoffs left the three-time All-Star on the outs with his team. Simmons had not been in contact with the Sixers this summer and skipped the beginning of training camp. This cost him $8.25 million as the Sixers withheld a payout equaling 25% of his annual salary.
Now Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that Sixers management, including Head Coach Doc Rivers, have met with Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports, to discuss a resolution that ends up with Simmons back in Philadelphia.
