Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon is set to take part in a second round of interviews for the Trail Blazers, marking the first time that a female candidate has emerged as a finalist for a vacant NBA head coaching position. On Monday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that Hammon and Clippers assistant coach Chauncey Billups would receive a follow-up interview.
Clippers assistant Chauncey Billups and Spurs assistant Becky Hammon are among candidates who’ll get second interviews for the Portland Trail Blazers head coaching job this week, sources tell ESPN.
Hammon, who has been a part of Gregg Popovich’s staff in San Antonio since the 2014-15 season, also interviewed with the Orlando Magic.
