Through 17 games, the fourth-year reserve is averaging 11.4 points on 44.7% shooting from the field, 2.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game — all of which are career highs. Simons is also shooting 36.4% from deep on a career high 5.2 attempts per game, while still attacking the basket more. On shots within five feet, Simons has increased his attempts from 0.7 per game last season to 1.8 per game this season, while upping his shooting percentage on those shots from 45.
