The NBA world got bowled over last night as news broke that the Minnesota Timberwolves have traded All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks for fellow All-Star Julius Randle, guard Donte DiVincenzo, and a speculative future pick. The Timberwolves contended strongly in the Western Conference last season and appeared to be finding their stride after years of struggling. The Knicks have been hot all summer, acquiring forward Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets and re-signing last year’s big asset, forward OG Anunoby. Both teams looked to be set entering the season.
