Portland Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu helped Nigeria qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup with 12 points in a win over the Central African Republic. The win marked Nigeria’s eighth in as many games, punching their ticket to the World Cup.
Aminu also contributed eight rebounds and five assists in the 114-69 win. Aminu’s brother, Alade, also plays for Nigeria; he contributed 11 points of his own.
Nigeria has one qualifying game left against Senegal on Sunday, Sept. 16.
The 2019 World Cup will be held in China from Aug. 31-Sept.
