The Portland Trail Blazers played a typical back-to-back game against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. Their first-half performance was scrappy. The Suns’ shooting performance was the same, just without the “s”. But all good things come to an end. As soon as Phoenix started stroking open threes in the third period, they opened up a 20-point lead on the fatigued visitors. A huge fourth quarter from deep-bench sub Dalano Banton helped Portland cut the lead back to just a bucket in the closing seconds, but the Blazers couldn’t make good and Phoenix earned a 103-97 victory.
