The 2019 NBA Draft is now only two months away, and the college basketball season is officially over. So, I have started to evaluate prospects for the upcoming draft. Let’s continue with Michigan’s Charles Matthews.
Strengths
Perimeter Defense
Matthews established himself as arguably the best defender on a Michigan defense that allowed the second fewest points to opposing offenses throughout Division 1 basketball. He uses his 6’6″ size to his advantage against opposing guards and took the toughest defensive assignment each night for the Wolverines. Front offices, who like Matthews, will project him to have the potential to be a role player in the PJ Tucker mold.
