Damian Lillard is a happy member of Blazers news today, picking up a contract extension with adidas which could net the Portland Trail Blazers star up to $100 million over up to 10 years.
Per Brian Windhorst and Darren Rovell of ESPN.com, Lillard's new deal is "believed to be the largest shoe deal since Derrick Rose signed a 13-year deal in 2012 that could be worth more than $185 million. LeBron James and Kevin Durant, both of whom are with Nike, are the highest-earning active players when it comes to shoe endorsements."
Damian Lillard made his first trip to the NBA All-Star Game this season, and has been a huge part of the Portland Trail Blazers breakthrough season in 2013-14. At 20.8 points and 5.6 assists a game, Lillard has taken his game to the next level -- one of the main reasons why the young guard is now being tabbed as one of the main faces of adidas' marketing campaigns --
"Adidas has been great to me over my first two seasons," stated Lillard in a release transcribed on ESPN.com. "I've had the opportunity to wear a lot of great product, help design special versions of shoes, be a part of TV commercials and travel the world with the brand. I'm excited for what the future holds for me and adidas."
