Despite dominating much of the game, the Timbers lost 2-1 at home to the Seattle Sounders on Sunday afternoon.
The Timbers controlled the first half, spending most of the opening 45 minutes in Seattle’s end. All the passing led to very few good chances, though, and the Timbers were frustrated to see the half end 0-0.
The teams switched ends of the field in the second half, but the Timbers continued to control the ball. All their hard work seemed ready to be rewarded in the 55th minute, when Eryk Williamson stole the ball, made a quick pass to Jeremy Ebobisse, who was then brought down in the box by Sounders defender Shane O’Neill.
