As the ink dried on Adam Kwarasey’s transfer papers, it was widely reported that the Timbers would seek to sign a veteran keeper as a back up to Jake Gleeson, rather than roll with the green Wade Hamilton in the case of Gleeson going down.
Initial rumors pointed towards DC United’s Tally Hall, but those have been proven false. Today we have some clarity with the Timbers singing Chris Konopka, a veteran keeper, if not a big of a journeyman.
He bounced around the bottom of the roster for a number of MLS clubs before having a career-high 21 appearances as Toronto FC’s keeper in 2015.
