The offseason retooling of the Portland Timbers has continued this week with another flurry of activity. Part of that came at the 2016 MLS Super Draft, the annual draft that is held in conjunction with the annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention which was being staged in Baltimore, Maryland, where recently signed or graduated players are dispersed within the league. However, the Timbers also added three veteran pieces to their club to give some needed depth, but there will be three familiar names from the 2015 MLS Cup run that will not be rejoining their side to support the title defense, either.
