PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers forward Jeremy Ebobisse was named one of three finalists for the MLS WORKS Humanitarian of the Year award, Major League Soccer announced today.
Ebobisse, Los Angeles FC midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye and Toronto FC defender Justin Morrow are the three finalists to be nominated for the MLS WORKS Humanitarian of the Year award.
The Bethesda, Md., native was instrumental for the Black Players for Change and serves on the Executive Board of the organization which is working towards addressing the racial equality gap and social justices issues. Additionally, Ebobisse started the season with a robust plan to increase awareness of issues related to race, cultural identity, and social justice with his collaboration and campaign for both the Timbers and Thorns: Educate, Elevate, Engage.
