Another move is going down in Rose City. The Portland Timbers announced on Sunday that they have received $160,000 in General Allocation Money from New York City FC. In exchange, the Timbers have given NYCFC an international roster slot for 2021.
This is just one of several moves that the Timbers have made throughout the offseason. Earlier this month, the Timbers reportedly traded defender Marco Farfan to LAFC in exchange for $300,000 in allocation money. That same day, they paid a $1 million transfer fee for Argentine left back Nicolas Claudio Bravo, who was a rumored signing for Portland back in October.
